Patricia's exploration of physical movement began when she came to New York City to dance in 1989. A lifetime dancer, she has performed and toured with some New York City's most renowned dance companies, including Michael Mao and H.T. Chen & Dancers, among others. She also choreographed Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and continues to judge dance competitions throughout the country.
Requiring strength, power and flexibility, dance can be punishing to a body that is improperly trained. Patricia tried all prevailing fitness disciplines, mastered the most effective ones and ultimately opened Moving Strength studios, incorporating her Pilates, yoga and dance training to create a unique boutique studio unlike any other specializing in Pilates.
Certified as Personal Trainer throught the American Council of Exercise (ACE), Patricia holds certifications in Pilates, Power Plate, yoga, Resist-a-Ball and Healthy Moms Perinatal training. She works with not only all of the Pilates Equipment (such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Ladder Barrel) but also with weights, resistance bands and balls, tubing, stability boards and rollers - whatever works to get her clients to their "personal best" - long, strong and pain free.
Patricia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Pre-Physical therapy from Kansas State University in 1989. She was certified as a personal trainer in 1995 and opened Moving Strength Studio in 2006. Patricia has two girls, Sophia and Izabella, who love to attend the studio with their mother and train in Pilates, TRX, aerial, yoga, among other equipment exercises.
